Violence is ramping up during Ramadan.
Thirty-six people have already been killed in the first six days of this holy season for Muslims. It is meant to be a month of fasting for Muslims but it's also one of the deadliest.
In 2017, 564 people were killed in over 100 terrorist attacks during Ramadan — attacks like the London Bridge attack and the truck bombing of the German embassy in Kabul.
Muslims also assault others for breaking the rules of Ramadan. Fellow Muslims have been beaten for smoking or drinking in public in attacks that aren't classified as terrorism.
The director of JihadWatch and expert on Islam, Robert Spencer, explains: "Ramadan is the month of Jihad, the month when Muslims strive to please Allah more fervently."
Violence against women and children also increases. These women report living in fear by day and terror by night. They are beaten during the day if they make too much noise in the home and are raped at night by roving Muslim gangs who believe the Quran sanctifies their actions.
One victim who was held as a sex slave reported the appalling conditions she and others were subjected to, saying, "I saw a man who was over 40 take a 10-year-old girl. The girl was screaming."
Governments are bolstering security forces and setting up special tip lines to report terrorist activities.
Ramadan ends on June 14.
Update: An additional 16 people were killed after this report was made, raising the death toll to 52
