Bergoglio used Athanasius Schneider to advance in his apostasy, as the socialist regime used its allies whom they considered "useful idiots"

Anatomy of a Schmoozer

Fatima Perspectives #1289

One of my favorite colloquialisms is schmoozer, derived from the Yiddish shmuesn, meaning “To converse casually, especially in order to gain an advantage or make a social connection.” The schmoozer says what he has to say to gain the advantage he seeks. What he really believes is a different matter.
And so it is with the current occupant of the Chair of Peter.  Recall the aftermath of Francis’ Joint Declaration with the “Grand Imam of Al-Azhar,” Ahmed el-Tayeb, in which we find the following objective heresy: “The pluralism and the diversity of religions, colour, sex, race and language are willed by God in His wisdom, through which He created human beings. This divine wisdom is the source from which the right to freedom of belief and the freedom to be different derives.”
Faced with the worldwide scandal his utterance of this heresy had provoked, Francis, as I recount here, told Bishop Athanasius Schneider privately that he could say “that the diversity of religions is the permissive will of God,” whereas Francis would make no effort publicly to correct his own statement contrary to the Faith.  And, at any rate, the “permissive” will of God is a mere toleration of evil. One would not say, therefore, that God “wills” mass murder or, for that matter, the sins of all men. Nor does God in any sense will the existence of lying religions, as the Joint Declaration claims.
The good bishop was schmoozed by a consummate schmoozer, who told him what he wanted to hear, but only when the bishop had backed him into a corner.  I suspect, however, that Bishop Schneider knew full well he was being schmoozed but was exploiting this Pope’s capacity for schmoozing to extract, at least orally, some kind of correction.
Nonetheless, schmoozing it was.  Evidently, Francis didn’t believe a word he said to Bishop Schneider.  For as LifeSiteNews reports, only days after Bishop Schneider’s March 1 meeting with the Pope (on or about March 18), “The Vatican’s office for promoting interreligious dialogue has asked Catholic university professors to give the ‘widest possible dissemination’” to the Joint Declaration, with no correction of its blatantly heretical claim that God wills the diversity of religions that contradict His revelation and even the most basic precepts of the natural law.
Worse, the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue’s letter was sent to Catholic university professors in Rome with the Joint Declaration attached.  Bishop Miguel Ayuso Guixot, secretary of the Pontifical Council, specifically requested “professors, priests, and sisters at universities to ‘facilitate the distribution, the study, and the reception’ of the document, adding that the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue ‘will be grateful to you already now for any possible initiative, in the frame of this institution, which aims at the spreading of this Document.’”
That is, not only has Pope Francis doubled down on his heretical statement, he has ordered that it be made part of a veritable educational program which would incorporate the idea that God wills — i.e., does not merely permit the evil of — the existence of innumerable false religions.
By the way, the lie that God wills the diversity of religions is not the only objective heresy in the Joint Declaration. A Dominican theologian, writing anonymously for fear of retribution, takes aim at the document’s further claim that “Through faith in God… believers are called to express this human fraternity by safeguarding creation and the entire universe and supporting all persons, especially the poorest and those most in need.”  As the theologian notes:
“It is contrary to the Church’s way of speaking to use the phrase ‘faith in God’ to mean ‘affirming that God exists,’ or ‘believing in any kind of alleged revelation, even a non-Christian one… Faith, is the [supernatural] virtue through which God moves us to assent to what He has revealed through the Old Testament prophets and the New Testament apostles, and most of all through His Son.
“People who believe in non-Christian religions therefore do not do so by faith, as the declaration Dominus Iesus 7 points out, but by some kind of human opinion.”
And human opinion is precisely what Francis has expressed in the Joint Declaration.  An opinion to which he obviously continues to cling despite his schmoozing of Bishop Schneider.
The bishop deserves nothing but praise for his effort to obtain a correction of Francis’ heresy from its author, but it was too much to expect that Francis would stick to what he said privately, much less declare it publicly.  For a schmoozer converses “to gain an advantage,” not to affirm the truth.  The advantage having been gained, Francis quickly moved on to continue promoting what he really thinks and what he really wants everyone to believe.
Meanwhile, as Life Site reports in the prior article linked above, the Austrian philosophy professor Joseph Seifert rightly protests that the statement Francis not only refuses to correct but now aggressively promotes is an “unprecedented heresy of all heresies…” And then this explosive declaration:
“For, how could God will contradictions to those most important revealed truths which are simultaneously also willed by Him? This assumption would make God either a lunatic who violates the foundation of all reason – the principle of non-contradiction – and who is a monumental relativist, or a confused God who is indifferent to the matter of whether people witness to the truth or not. Professor Seifert said that Catholics have the duty to defend the Catholic truth. According to the natural law, all priests, cardinals, bishops, and laymen are duty-bound to call upon the Pope to either reject this sentence [about the diversity of religions willed by God] or to resign as Pope.”
Over the past fifty years the Church has been afflicted by a series of papal decisions improvidently attempting to implement an imaginary conciliar “opening to the world.” The result has been an epochal ecclesial disaster, now exceeding even the Arian crisis in scope.  But never have we seen anything quite like Pope Francis. One wonders if there is anyone in the Vatican, even in Francis’ inner circle, who still does not recognize, if only inwardly, that “the current Pope’s leadership has become a danger to the faith…”

McCarrick Crony Rumored to Replace Wuerl in Washington DC

en.news The new Washington D.C. archbishop will be the black Atlanta Archbishop Wilton Gregory, 71, CatholicNewsAgency.com (March 28) has learned.

Gregory is pro-gay and de facto pro-abortion. According to George Neumayr, he was a protégé of the late Cardinal

Joseph Bernardin, a big liberal destroyer of the Church.

From 2001 to 2004 Gregory was president of the US Bishops. In April 2004 he insisted that pro-death politicians should not be denied Holy Communion.

In 2014, during the Bishops’ Synod on the Family, Gregory claimed that practicing homosexuals who live in mortal sin “in too many cases" have "not felt welcomed or respected.”

Also in October 2014, he allowed the Atlanta Shrine of the Immaculate Conception to be part of an immoral Pride Parade.

In September 2018, Gregory invited pro-gay Father James Martin to speak in two parishes.

McCarrick Crony Rumored to Replace Wuerl in Washington DC

Abp. Wilton Gregory was protegé of Cdl. Joseph Bernardin

WASHINGTON (ChurchMilitant.com) - A longtime associate of Theodore McCarrick is rumored to become the new head of the archdiocese of Washington, D.C.
Catholic News Agency is reporting that Pope Francis has asked Atlanta, Georgia's Abp. Wilton Gregory, a leading liberal in the Church, to take the helm in the Washington archdiocese. It remains unclear whether Gregory has accepted the offer.
Gregory was originally an auxiliary bishop in the archdiocese of Chicago for 11 years and was a protegé of Cdl. Joseph Bernardin, who actively promoted homosexuality and a "seamless garment" philosophy that saw poverty, joblessness and other social justice issues as weighty as abortion.
Gregory has a well-known record for promoting homosexuality, women priests and Holy Communion for the civilly remarried. Tweet
Gregory has a well-known record for promoting homosexuality, women priests and Holy Communion for the civilly remarried. He was a close ally of disgraced homosexual predator Theodore McCarrick, working closely with him when Gregory was president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops from 2001–2004.
McCarrick came under fire in 2004 for mischaracterizing a memo sent from Cdl. Joseph Ratzinger, then prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, in response to a query about Canon 915. The query had come during a heated presidential race involving pro-abortion Catholic John Kerry. Ratzinger had made clear in his memo that Canon 915 made it mandatory for bishops to deny Holy Communion to pro-abortion politicians.
The only two U.S. prelates who knew the contents of the memo were McCarrick and Gregory.
McCarrick went on to falsely claim to his brother bishops that the Ratzinger memo made Canon 915 optional with regard to denying Holy Communion to pro-abortion politicians. Gregory helped him perpetuate the fraud.
The late Richard Sipe, an expert on clerical sex abuse, whose years-long warnings about McCarrick were prescient and entirely accurate but often ignored by Church officials, claimed in a 2006 article that Gregory is homosexual.
As archbishop of Atlanta, Gregory has done the following;
  • Gave the keynote address to the 2017 yearly assembly for the Association of U.S. Catholic Priests (AUSCP), a dissident group that promotes married priesthood, contraception and loosening of restrictions on Church teaching on sexuality
  • Held a retreat for Fortunate and Faithful Families, a dissenting, pro-LGBT group that rejects Church doctrine on chastity
  • Invited homosexualit Jesuit Fr. James Martin to speak at an Atlanta Jesuit parish and the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception
  • Supported pro-LGBT Atlanta drag show priest Msgr. Henry Gracz, who is pastor of Shrine of the Immaculate Conception; appointed him "spiritual director" to sex-abuse victims, and allows the parish to attend the annual Pride parade
  • Was a featured speaker at the 2017 Boston College gathering of progressive-liberal theologians to endorse Holy Communion for civilly remarried Catholics, during which he claimed that Amoris Laetitia "challenges the church and its pastors to move beyond thinking that everything is black and white"
  • In 2014 he apologized for moving into a 6,400 square-foot, $2.2 million mansion, saying, "I failed to consider the impact on the families throughout the archdiocese who, though struggling to pay their mortgages, utilities, tuition and other bills, faithfully respond year after year to my pleas to assist with funding our ministries and services"
Critics say it's business as usual in the Church, and that the corruption and cover-up will continue.Tweet
Wuerl resigned in disgrace in October after a searing Pennsylvania grand jury report revealed Wuerl had shuffled and protected predator priests during his time as bishop in Pittsburgh, including paying hush money to a priest who was part of a child porn ring (claims Wuerl has never denied). Since his resignation, Catholics in Washington, D.C. have been requesting that Pope Francis send a faithful prelate to be their new shepherd. With the possible appointment of Gregory, a McCarrick crony, to Washington, critics say it's business as usual in the Church, and that the corruption and cover-up will continue.

Bergoglio 'conjure' a blasphemous image of the crucifixion of Christ

Bergoglio 'conjure' a blasphemous mockery of a deformed Christ with a deformed cross.
The Freemasons like the apostate Bergoglio hate the Cross of Christ.

Abp. Fulton Sheen: “The essence of the satanic or the diabolic is the hatred of the Cross of Christ. … What is the satanic from the Biblical point of view? It is the contempt of the Cross of Christ. It is anti-Cross.” The archbishop added, “The demonic very simply is the anti-Cross. The anti-disciplined life. The anti-Christ. That’s the satanic.”

‘Gay Priests Are Okay’

As long as it isn't minors.

Before we begin, a small advisory that, given the nature of this episode, the topic is a little rough. Father Robert DeLand of Saginaw, Michigan is finally facing justice for his homosexual predation.
Earlier this week, he pleaded no contest to charges of various charges of sexual assault involving a 17-year-old male.
DeLand had, in fact, faced a series of trials for related activity, having been acquitted on one charge last week after the prosecution was unable to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt a previous sexual assault.
But now, after entering what amounts to a guilty plea, without actually admitting guilt, he is going to be facing years in prison with sentencing expected in the coming weeks.
DeLand's case raises loads of questions. In fact, his is a case in all that is wrong in the Church these days. He was ordained in 1973 for the diocese of Saginaw, Michigan.
Back in the 1990s, persistent rumors and allegations of his homosexual activity and grooming young males surfaced and he wrote a letter to the then Bp. Kenneth Untener denying everything.
Despite that history, he was elevated to judicial vicar in 2001. DeLand was a practicing homosexual, in fact, a predatory homosexual and this was not a deep dark secret at the Saginaw chancery.
However, since the legal age of consent in Michigan is 16, DeLand was hard to "get" for statutory rape because he made sure none of his victims, at least that anyone knows about, were "underage."
When any charges or accusations arose, they were not easy to pursue criminally because, if discovered, he could have always pointed a finger to the fact that the young men were of legal age.
His modus operandi was to hang around the local high school, for years, volunteering to be a hall monitor, where he befriended freshmen and sophomore boys.
He would use his interaction with them to identify the weak or vulnerable among them, and then he would begin his grooming, careful it seems to make sure that he never crossed the legal age of consent boundary.
This behavior went on for years, and no one in the diocese seemed to raise an eyebrow of concern. In fact, Bp. Joseph Cistone, who died late last year, acted oblivious to the impropriety of the whole situation.
DeLand was part of the liberal, modernist network of questionable clerics — mainly, but not exclusively, from the 1970s era — who had inserted themselves as fixtures in the local power structure of the Church, a very important fact for Catholic everywhere to understand.
As long as DeLand wasn't raping underage boys, he got a pass. Homosexuality among priests — active homosexuality — is no big deal, as long as it's not kids and a lawsuit comes as a result.
And if you think Saginaw is some isolated case of that philosophy, then you don't have a pulse. This is the rule, not the exception, across nearly every diocese in America.
And while we are at it, it extends into the world of bishops as well. At the very least — and we mean the very least — bishops don't want to tick off their gay clergy like was openly admitted to in the case of Abp. Allen Vigneron of Detroit by one of his own seminary faculty, Dr. Mary Healy.
Catholics have got to understand that this is how the Church functions today — across the board, from Rome on down — and how it has functioned for decades — active homosexual clergy, bishops as well as priests, who don't care about the immorality of homosexuality as long as it's not a minor. So, DeLand, exhibiting a high degree of cockiness in earlier court appearances, simply outwardly laughed off the charges, surprising various onlookers in court with his bravado.
That extended to last week's verdict of not guilty in the first trial where it turned into a case of he said, he said. And yeah, step back for a minute and take this all in — a Catholic priest not only doing the deed but then lying about it in court and refusing to face the music of his sins and crimes. Pay attention, you Catholics who find all this hard to believe, or don't want to process all this, this is the state of the clergy today in way too many instances.
The trial this week that was avoided by this no contest plea was only avoided because, after a series of charges by multiple victims, local police were able to wiretap and surveil his activity with a 17-year-old victim. He gave the young man money to buy drugs and come over to his residence — on and on, you get the picture.
And of course, without the crack work by the police and the young man's cooperation — difficult as that would have been — DeLand more than likely would have skated on that assault as well just like the first one — again, because it wasn't a minor, legally anyway.
DeLand should never have been ordained. Like so many other men who got into the system in the 1970s and 1980s, they are either actively gay, gay-friendly or complicit in their silence.
Some, some of them raped minors, and that is the only thing that has exposed the larger problem of the infestation of homosexual men in the seminaries. And to be very clear, active homosexual priests and bishops is still, right this very moment, an ongoing crisis in the Church.
Many of these men — like Fr. James Martin and the truckloads of homosexualist bishops and other priests in his heretic camp — just do not believe there is anything sinful about active homosexuality.
That is the problem. They are gay heretics, and their gay gravy train had to pull into the station once the secular media went wild, as they should have, with the child sex abuse coverage 18 years ago.
But having somewhat addressed that, the surviving clergy hopped back on the train and kept on having gay sex — and still do — with seminarians, each other, male prostitutes and so forth.
Even if homosexual predation of legal minors is not as prevalent — and there's some question about even that now as new studies begin to emerge — even if the predation of minor males is only the tip of the iceberg.
This is why men like Chicago Cdl. Blase Cupich cannot let this conversation arise publicly — same goes for Robert McElroy of San Diego. It was the fuel in the engine of Theodore McCarrick. It was the reason behind the stream of lies pouring out of the mouths of Tobin, Farrell, Wuerl and so forth.
These men may not, may not, protect homopredator child molesters in their clergy, but they sure as Hades protect homosexuality among their priests.
That's how DeLand was able to get away with stuff for so long — victim after victim, grooming incident after grooming incident.
These bishops and priests who either actually do this stuff or cover it up are sick in the head. They have no supernatural faith. They are on the road to damnation, and they don't care who they drag into the pit with them.
They must be fiercely resisted — their cover-up, their perversion of dogma and doctrine. They need to be laicized and go get a job in the nearest gay bar, if they refuse to repent, and stop sponging off the laity.
This is why Cupich jumped to his feet so fast in Baltimore and said consensual sex among the clerical ranks is a different issue and we can talk about it later — later, by the way, never comes.
Cupich is the Vatican's cover-up man for the real problem of, not child sex abuse, but gay priests and bishops who have adult lovers stashed all over the Church.
Don't give these perverts and cover-up artists a dime, nothing, not one red cent of your money, for anything. They don't care about salvation, the Church or your families. And one final point, they don't even care about their own.
In a couple of weeks or so, DeLand is going to be sitting behind bars for years, perhaps long enough to actually die in prison, if not be killed.
Will the sodomite clergy gang come to his assistance in preparing him for death, in encouraging him to repent? We already know the answer. They are a wicked bunch.

The apostate Joseph H. Gomez allows the apostate Roger Mahony to influence faithful without restriction and to celebrate the Holy Sacraments of the Church in the Diocese of Los Angeles

Mahony Still a 'Prince' in Los Angeles

by Jim Russell  •  ChurchMilitant.com  •  March 27, 2019

Clericalism on display by Cdl. Roger Mahony and Abp. José Gomez

This past weekend marked the conclusion of the annual Los Angeles Religious Education Congress, held in and sponsored by the archdiocese of Los Angeles. This event is likely the largest single Catholic event held annually in the United States.
And this year, despite well-organized and substantial protests from concerned lay Catholics and clergy abuse victims, disgraced Cdl. Roger Mahony was invited to give a public presentation on the immigration issue.

Los Angeles Abp. Jose Gomez
If you'd like a textbook example of how clericalism really works, look no further than Abp. José H. Gomez of Los Angeles and the fact that his disgraced predecessor Mahony remains "in good standing" in the archdiocese.
The details of Mahony's episcopal malfeasance and failure to protect the vulnerable in his archdiocese from clergy sexual abuse — and his role in covering up such abuse — are widely and publicly available. So is the account of how Abp. Gomez initially forbade Mahony from any public duties in the archdiocese, only to completely reverse course on this decision.
Clericalism sounds a lot like what I heard directly from a Los Angeles archdiocese spokesperson when I asked for an on-the-record response regarding why Mahony remained a "priest in good standing" just a few weeks ago.
I received this response: "Cardinal Mahony remains a priest in good standing with full rights to celebrate the Holy Sacraments and minister to the faithful without restriction. The Los Angeles Times covered the clarification in the following article on February 15, 2013."
If you'd like a textbook example of how clericalism really works, look no further than Abp. José H. Gomez of Los Angeles and the fact that his disgraced predecessor Mahony remains 'in good standing' in the archdiocese.Tweet
Compare the above 2019 quote from an archdiocesan spokesperson with this next statement from an archdiocesan spokesman, given six years earlier to The New York Times as published Jan. 31, 2013: "Cardinal Mahony and Bishop Curry are still able to celebrate Mass and other religious duties. But Cardinal Mahony, a vocal advocate of immigrant rights, will no longer speak publicly, as he has done frequently since his retirement in 2011, a spokesman for the archdiocese said."
This is what clericalism looks like. This past weekend, Cdl. Mahony indeed spoke publicly, on immigration, at an event sponsored by the archdiocese of Los Angeles and with the full knowledge and consent of Abp. Gomez.
What really happened here? It's simple. Mahony decided he wasn't going to let the archbishop of Los Angeles do that to him.
Literally one day after that New York Times article appeared, the Los Angeles Daily News published a piece titled "Cardinal Mahony fires back at Gomez, defends handling of child sex-abuse cases." In this article, a prescient quote appears from an unlikely source:
"Archbishop Gomez is simply doing this symbolic gesture in the hope that it will placate people," said Joelle Casteix, the western regional director of Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, during an afternoon news conference outside Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral downtown. "But nothing will placate victims of crimes when we know that Cardinal Mahony personally oversaw the transfer, oversaw the facilitation, oversaw the enabling of abusers to continue to abuse children in Los Angeles for decades."
Then one more salient detail emerges. Mahony had been slated to speak at the 2013 LA Religious Education Congress, but it was reported that he would "no longer appear at its podium." Mahony had spoken on immigration in 2012, apparently, but this writer can find no record of him speaking in 2013.

The article linked readers to Mahony's personal blog, since that was where the cardinal rose vehemently to his own defense within 24 hours of Gomez's public admonishment and announcement that Mahony would no longer have "public duties."
The prince of the Church acted swiftly. He publicly posted a letter to Gomez in which he stated how ill-equipped he was to deal with the abuse crisis, but had admitted mistakes and couldn't turn back the clock again to the 1980s to fix anything. Instead, he chastised Gomez for not raising any concerns about the archdiocese's past handling of abuse in the years prior to that week's court-ordered release of 12,000 personnel files that revealed that Mahony had shielded 14 abusive priests from legal jeopardy.

This massive and immediate pushback by Mahony was completely in character and echoed exactly what Mahony did against the late Mother Angelica of EWTN in 1997, when she publicly stated that her obedience to Mahony would be "zero" if she were in his archdiocese due to what she saw as his deeply ambiguous presenting of the truths about the Eucharist. Mahony used all his power and influence against Mother Angelica. With Gomez, it appears he acted similarly.
By the time Mahony had posted his letter chastising Gomez for restricting his role in the archdiocese (posted on Mahony's blog on Feb. 1, 2013, incidentally the exact same date on the actual letter to Gomez himself), yet another remarkable thing happened that day.
Archbishop Gomez, on Feb. 1, 2013, released this statement, which Mahony also published, apparently that same day, with his letter to Gomez:
STATEMENT OF ARCHBISHOP JOSE H. GOMEZ REGARDING PRIESTLY STATUS OF CARDINAL ROGER MAHONY AND BISHOP THOMAS CURRY
Questions from the faithful and some members of the news media indicate that it would be helpful for me to clarify the status of Cardinal Roger Mahony and Bishop Thomas Curry.
Cardinal Mahony, as Archbishop Emeritus, and Bishop Curry, as Auxiliary Bishop, remain bishops in good standing in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, with full rights to celebrate the Holy Sacraments of the Church and to minister to the faithful without restriction.
Gomez literally restricted Mahony's "public duties" for less than one day.
Both of these prelates opted to put their agendas as bishops ahead of the common good of the faithful and ahead of real respect for abuse victims.Tweet
Because of Mahony's direct and public opposition, Gomez's "clarification" eliminated the restrictions he imposed the day before.
Not only is this clericalism, but it's clericalism on several levels. Gomez used his authority to deflect the heat from the 2013 document release by pointing out where the blame really was — with Mahony.
Mahony used his authority to immediately neutralize his successor's action, and Gomez used his authority to retract his original restrictions on Mahony and make it appear instead that there was "confusion" on the subject that required "clarification" — a clarification that made the restriction on "public duties" vanish altogether.
Both of these prelates opted to put their agendas as bishops ahead of the common good of the faithful and ahead of real respect for abuse victims in particular. Thus, Gomez gave a public platform this past weekend to a disgraced prince of the Church who should be spending his remaining days in private reparation and penance for his massive failure to shepherd his flock.
This is what clericalism looks like. And it doesn't look good.
