In Argentina Bergoglio authorized a wedding outside the Church to the son of the narcoterrorist Escobar, which is forbidden

Juan Pablo Escobar Henao alias Sebastián Marroquín

The narcoterrorist's son wrote in his book: "Pablo Escobar, mi Padre"

"In December of 2002 I honored my word and married Andrea. It occurred to us to do the Outdoor ceremony in a hotel but the problem arose that this type of event was prohibited by the Argentine Catholic Church. As always, my mother intervened and achieved the impossible: the bishop of Buenos Aires, Jorge Mario Bergoglio authorized the wedding. Against all possibility, my mother managed to speak with the now Pope Francis."

Victoria Eugenia Henao Vallejo (alias) María Isabel Santos Caballero

It is the obligation of the parish priest to know his parishioners well because the parishioners must be married in their own parish. The bishop can only authorize the parishioners to marry in a private chapel or in another parish.

Normally for one to marry in a parish they must be members of that parish at least 1 year and do the preparation course that lasts another year.

Although Pablo Escobar's family changed their identity when they left Colombia, his widow  became a well-known public figure in Argentina. In fact, in 2000 he had had problems with justice that were published in the press as to think that Bergoglio did not know that she was in Argentina is just wrong.

"PRIESTS CAN NOT CELEBRATE MARRIAGES IN HOTELS, HOUSES OF RECEPTIONS, SOCIAL HALLS OR FARMS AND THEN REGISTER IN THEIR PARISHES. THEY WILL BE NULL MARRIAGES "

  1. A person from Buenos Aires commented that weddings have even taken place in the Catholic Cemetery of Recoleta:

Nadie dijo: los cementerios. Pues aquí hubo casorio en el cementerio de la Recoleta. No en la Iglesia de al lado sino dentro del cementerio. No se que tendrá de emocionante..y no un solo casorio sino algunos.
Es el último grito de la tumba, perdón: de la moda
