Staff at CA Catholic Girls’ School Tout Dissenters and Liberals

Religious education department head: Fr. James Martin is a modern-day prophet

SAN DIEGO (ChurchMilitant.com) - Teachers at a prestigious all-girls Catholic school prove their support for heterodox ideas and the liberal agenda through social media.
Recently, Church Militant was contacted by a mother of a student at the Academy of Our Lady of Peace (OLP) wanting to warn other parents about the culture of toned-down radical feminism being fostered at the school. This family has been suffering to help their daughter keep her Catholic faith while struggling with the same-sex attractions she developed while at the school.
The report focused on the pro-LGBT charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, the order that founded the school, and the personal toll on the student after she was pursued by other girls at the school for an amorous relationship.
Our source, wanting to remain anonymous to protect her daughter, explained that the achievements of women were over-emphasized and the girls were taught to be self-reliant and aggressive. The social media posts of the staff certainly show the extent to which women's achievements and the liberal agenda is exalted to the students and embraced by the staff — starting with the head of the school, Dr. Lauren Lek.

In 2015, to promote the causes of International Women's Day, Lek recommended "checking out" the Clinton Foundation's No Ceilings event. While the scandals involving the Clinton Foundation were not well-known at the time, Hilary Clinton's outspoken support for abortion was.
"Safe, legal and rare" was the mantra of the Clinton administration proclaiming its support of abortion.
In another post, Lek tweeted how thrilled she was that Maria Shriver and Gwyneth Paltrow were speaking to students.
Shriver is a self-professed "cafeteria Catholic" and chooses to ignore the Church's teachings on abortion, same-sex marriage, contraception, Holy Communion for the divorced and remarried and women priests.
In 2011, Paltrow thrust herself into the national spotlight with her blog post questioning the condemnation of homosexuality in the Bible. Since that post, she has become outspoken in her support of the active homosexual lifestyle. In 2017, her site Goop published an article on anal sex as "supported by science." The school's support for pro-abortion politicians isn't limited to the past. In November, the school hosted a California Democratic pro-abortion congresswoman, Susan Davis, for a "hip-hop dance workshop." In addition to her support of civil rights for the LGBT community, Davis is a cosponsor of the Women's Health Protection Act that would prohibit the government from passing new laws to limit abortion or impose more stringent standards of care.

In January, Angela Gascho, the English department chair tweeting under the handle @fablitteacher, posted an invitation to join her for the Women's March San Diego.
In another, she pushed an opinion piece that Brett Kavanaugh should not be confirmed to the Supreme Court. In still others, she retweets Hillary and Chelsea Clinton and ones disparaging President Donald Trump.
Bridgette Will, who tweeted several links to news reports favoring same-sex marriage, one featuring Nancy Pelosi and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, also tweeted her thanks to @fablitteacher for getting her on the OLP staff.
Perhaps the most disturbing of the social media posts is OLP religious education department head Donna Allen's post calling Fr. James Martin a "modern day prophet." Allen regularly retweets posts from Fr. Martin and Fr. Gregory Boyle, both dissident priests that have openly challenged traditional Church teachings and doctrine.
Most recently, Fr. Martin recommended the "Rosary of Modern Sorrows," complete with a decade of rainbow-colored beads, by Contemplative Rebellion, a small online store that donates a portion of their profits to groups that support contraception, abortion and the radical leftist organization Southern Poverty Law Center.
While Contemplative Rebellion did not tinker with the Muslim and Tibetan Buddhist prayer beads they also sell, they added a blasphemous intention to the fifth decade for acceptance of the belief that God created homosexuals in His image and that this orientation is "good" — not objectively disordered as the Catholic Church teaches.
Messages celebrating women's accomplishments as the highest measure of success are routinely pushed by @OLPNews, the school's official Twitter account. You are more likely to find a post celebrating former students meeting Nancy Pelosi than you are to find one celebrating motherhood.

Church Militant reached out to Lek, but she has not responded to our query.
