A New York priest who told a prospective seminarian to lie to Church officials about his sexuality has been indefinitely suspended from ministry after a canonical penal process found him guilty of serial sexual misconduct.

“I write to share some unpleasant and somber news concerning Father John Duffell, your just retired parish administrator,” Cardinal Timothy Dolan wrote in a July 1 letter to parishioners of New York’s Blessed Sacrament Parish.

“Father Duffell has been directed not to publicly exercise his priestly ministry due to an allegation from the past that he abused his position of authority in a violation of his promise of celibacy.”

“The allegation was made first to the District Attorney, and then brought to our attention. This allegation involves an adult; it does not involve a minor. It is important that the archdiocese take such allegations seriously,” Dolan wrote.

A source close to the priest told CNA that the allegation involved serial misconduct over a period of years.

A spokesman for the Archdiocese of New York told CNA July 6 that the priest was found guilty of the canonical crime of sexual misconduct in an administrative penal process undertaken by the archdiocese. His suspension from priestly ministry is indefinite, the spokesman said.

Duffell, 75, was ordained in May, 1969, by Cardinal Terrence Cooke. He has served mostly at parishes in Manhattan and Yonkers.

At a 2011 conference at Fordham University, Duffell told a participant to lie to Church authorities about same-sex attraction in order to be accepted for seminary formation.

“You’re not broken, the system is broken, and therefore you deal with it as a broken system; you lie,” Duffel said of the participant’s sexuality.

The priest has faced criticism for some activities of the “gay fellowship” at his parish.

In 2017, the parish “gay fellowship” partnered with the Born This Way Foundation, an “LGBT-rights” group founded by entertainer Lady Gaga, to hold a fundraising dance at the church hall.

Last month, the parish’s “gay fellowship” sponsored as a fundraiser a staged reading of the “Love! Valour! Compassion!” a Terrence McNally play about a group of eight gay men spending three weekends together at an upstate New York vacation home. The event was billed as an observation of the 1969 Stonewall riots, considered to be a landmark event within the “LGBT rights” movement.

Retired Bishop of Pinerolo celebrates Ramadan

The city of Pinerolo, 30 miles southwest of Turin, Italy, had a great inter-religious event this past May and early June when its retired Bishop Pier Giorgio Debernardi attended a Ramadan celebration.

The Muslims of that city are saying their prayers in a gymnasium until they have the means to build a mosque.

Bishop Debernardi went to that prayer center to praise their false god and confirm those persons in their religious errors. It is quite the opposite of what Our Lord Jesus Christ told the Apostles to do.

There is nothing surprising in this news, since the Conciliar Church's goal is to get rid of everything that recalls the Catholic Faith and replace it with a Pan-religion that conforms to the One World Order.

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (ChurchMilitant.com) - Franciscan University of Steubenville (FUS) is taking serious heat for hosting Cdl. Blase Cupich, archbishop of Chicago, for an upcoming conference.

Church Militant has confirmed that a long-time donor of 25 years called up the school and expressed outrage after learning FUS would be featuring Cupich in late July, demanding that his recent donations be returned or else he would sue the school. The donor has given more than $100,000 to FUS.

Voice + Vision: The National Summit for Ministries with Youth and Young Adults is being held July 31–Aug. 2. Its purpose is "to give voice to what is happening in the United States in youth and young adult ministries and propose a vision on how we can move forward."

A recent FUS graduate also emailed the university expressing anger: "I am appalled and ashamed that you would invite Cardinal Cupich to come for the conferences. He is a horrible prince of the church and has allowed too much evil to happen in the church."

The alumnus said the cardinal is "a weak man that is part of the homosexual mafia [and] doing nothing to stop the problems in the church," adding, "He … silences anyone, even priests in his diocese, that opposes the gay agenda."

Dr. Bob Rice, FUS director of masters of arts in catechetics and evangelization, who admitted to being the one responsible for the conference, responded: "The short answer is, we didn't invite him."

Rice explained that Cupich's presentation during the conference is based on his membership in the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and its connection to the National Dialogue for Pastoral Ministry. In short, the USCCB invited Cupich — not FUS.

As Voice + Vision "is the first national conference on Christus Vivit, the USCCB invited all the bishops who represented the United States in the Synod for Youth," Rice said. These include Cupich, pictured first in the lineup of speakers.

60 Days that Shook the Church: Top Catholic Scholars: Francis is a Heretic then Top Cardinal: Francis's Amazon Synod is "Heretical" & "Apostasy" 

The Catholic Resistance has scored major victories against Francis and his Vatican in the last 60 days that shook the Church.

They are losing not just because they have covered-up for sex-abuse predators as well as teach that the sacrilege of Communion for adulterers is morally acceptable and in the recent Amazon Synod promote heresy and apostasy.

Most of all they are losing because we are fighting them for God and He will not forsake us.

April 30 was the first major victory, 19 top Catholic scholars led by the world renowned theologian Fr. Aidan Nichols declared that "A heretical papacy may not be tolerated":

"[T]he world's bishops [must]... admonish the Pope and [he] must publicly reject heresy or face losing the papacy."

The last remnant of the enablers of Francis and his Vatican who claim to believe in the orthodox infallible teachings of the Catholic faith led by Jimmy Akin who came to the defense of the indefensible were humiliated and are in hiding.

The Theodore McCarrick liberal "Catholics" represented by the National Catholic Reporter and it's imitators who defend Francis are pure heretics who promote abortion or homosexuality or both.

No real Catholics listens to their pure nonsense except for the McCarrick sex abuse cover-up bishops who apparently are about to face justice in numerous States for their criminal sex abuse cover-ups.

Next, in the 60 days that shook the Church came Francis's Vatican Amazon Synod which a few days ago Dubia Cardinal Walter Brandmuller declared was "heretical" and "apostasy."

So far Akin nor any of his follow defenders of the indefensible have come out of their hiding places to claim that the doctrines of Amazonian witch doctors are really not heretical and can teach us to be better Catholics by "acculturation" if we stand on our heads, close our eyes and listen to the pantheistic cry of the earth.

Francis is losing his last totally non-heretical defenders. Even the defenders of the indefensible such as Akin don't want to be associated with a ship that appears about to sink. In other words, the rats are abandoning a sinking ship.

Yes, we have scored some major victories. But, don't think for one minute that Francis and his inner circle will not fight to the bitter end. We still have a long way to go before this war is won and Francis's ship is sunk.

Always remember what the almost penniless St. Theresa of Avila said when all the forces of hell fought against her founding convents for the glory and praise of God:

Theresa and a penny is nothing. Theresa, a penny and God is everything.

The Catholic Resistance is nothing. The Catholic Resistance and God is everything.

Keep fighting. We are winning. Victory is getting closer.

Pray an Our Father now for the restoration of the Church. Remember Francis and his inner circle are not the Church. We pray for their conversion, but most of all we pray for them to be expelled from the Church.

Remember what Doctor of the Church St. Francis de Sales said:

"The Pope... when he is explicitly a heretic... the Church must either deprive him or as some say declare him deprived of his Apostolic See."
