Germany: Corpus Christi procession canceled due to inability to provide safeguards against jihad attacks

Danke, Merkel!

There will be much, much more of this: Europeans curtailing their activities and sacrificing elements of their culture in order to guard against Islamic jihad massacres. This is the future of the United States as well, if the Left gets its way. The wound in Germany is self-inflicted, and will be in our case as well.

Islamic law forbids Christians to make any public display of their faith, including processions. So this cancellation is exactly what Islamic jihadists were hoping for and striving for: the voluntary acceptance of dhimmitude and Sharia by a non-Muslim population.

“Celebration of Corpus Christi: Procession in Bergkamen canceled,” translated from “Feiern an Fronleichnam: Prozession in Bergkamen abgesagt,” Die Welt, May 31, 2018 (thanks to Searchlight Germany):

Cologne / Bergkamen (dpa / lnw) – In many Catholic communities in North Rhine-Westphalia, Christians on Thursday hold Corpus Christi processions that move through the streets. In Cologne, for example, Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki first celebrated an open-air mass at Roncalliplatz with hundreds of faithful. Then the procession – accompanied by flags of the delegations of numerous clubs – went through the city center. At the same time, about 20 boats and ships sailed along the Rhine near Cologne-Mülheim during the traditional procession of the Mülheim “Gottstracht.”
The parish of St. Elisabeth in Bergkamen in the Ruhr region, on the other hand, canceled its procession on Corpus Christi on short notice due to high safety regulations. The city two weeks ago surprisingly issued a requirement to set up additional barriers with two guards and truck barriers at key points. “We could not implement that in such a short time,” said Pastor Thorsten Neudenberger on Thursday to the German Press Agency….
