Traditionis Custodes: Argentine Archbishop criticizes Bergoglio's double standard

Bergoglio calls for "church" with ‘Amazonian and indigenous’ face

Retired La Plata Archbishop Héctor Aguer, 78, Argentina, who has never celebrated a Roman Mass, criticised Traditionis Custodes on InfoVaticana.com (August 25).

Francis has eliminated the efforts for unity of his predecessors by placing “arbitrary” and “unjust” obstacles, and this is “a regrettable step backwards,” Aguer writes.

Now, bishops authorise the Roman Missal who too often are “not Traditionis custodes (“Custiodians of Tradition”) but traditionis ignari (“ignorant”), obliviosi (“clueless”), and even worse traditionis evertores (“destroyers”).”

Francis himself promotes a “polyhedral structure” of the Church which facilitates dissent and errors, Aguer says, while imposing uniformity “chosen solely against Tradition.”

Aguer would gladly accept TC if Francis would care about “the devastation of the liturgy” to the point that an Argentinean bishop presided a beach Eucharist with a mate as chalice. Many people are fed up with the Novus Ordo abuses (“There is nothing ideological in their aspiration”), sanctioned by the bishops.

He laments the bishops’ hypocrisy who don’t care about these abuses “but are quick to react against priests who with the utmost piety celebrate in Latin.” Such carelessness leads to the persuasion that "this is how the [Novus Ordo] liturgy is now."

Therefore, for Aguer, Francis uses a double standard: appreciation for anti-Catholic positions and “dislike” for Catholic views, according to Juan Domingo Perón: “to the friend, everything; to the enemy, not even justice.”

The Man of Lawlessness opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, declaring himself to be God. 2 Thessalonians 2: 4

Proverbs 17:15
One who justifies the wicked and one who condemns the righteous
are both alike an abomination to the Lord.
