Tyler Bishop Joseph Strickland doubled down on his May 12 observation that Francis is undermining the Faith (LifeSiteNews.com, May 28).
He clarified that it is not his intention to criticise but "if the truth is the truth, which I believe it is, I promised to guard the deposit of faith."
"When we see what is contrary to the truth, and there are too many things going on that are contrary to the truth that need to be addressed, out of love, we have to act," he said.
In better times, Strickland would have been made a cardinal for his courage.
Canon law tradition says a pope who commits formal heresy ceases to be pope: expert
But in the case of the heresiarch Jorge Mario Bergoglio is not pope because heretics are disqualified from being elevated to any ecclesiastical office. Bergoglio was already not only a public heretic in Argentina, but also a Freemason and communist.
“Among the candidates capable of being validly elected are all those who are not impeded by divine law or by an invalidating ecclesiastical law… Those prevented from being validly elected are women, children who have not reached the age of reason; Likewise, those affected by habitual insanity, the unbaptized, heretics, schismatics…” (Wernz-Vidal, Jus Canonicum 1: 415)
