VATICAN CITY, October 4, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – In a move which will most likely heighten the concerns of critics of the upcoming Amazon Synod, Pope Francis today participated in a “highly symbolic tree-planting ceremony” in the Vatican Gardens, where indegenous leaders offered prayers for the Earth and people bowed before carved images of pregnant women.  

Participants planted the tree in dirt from the Amazon region (“celebrating the wealth of the bioregion’s cultures and traditions,” Vatican News explained) and India. Also brought in was “soil representing refugees and migrants, forced to leave their homes because of war, poverty, and ecological devastation” and “more soil from the Amazon, earth bathed in the blood of those who have died fighting against its destruction.” 

“There was earth from places of human trafficking, and from sustainable development projects around the world,” according to Vatican News. The tree that was planted came from Assisi, a nod to today’s feast day of St. Francis, and Pope Francis used the occasion to consecrate the upcoming Synod for the Amazon to the protection of St. Francis of Assisi.

A female in ritual dress approached Pope Francis and appeared to place rings on his fingers, and then made the Sign of the Cross.



To some, this resembled a pagan fertility ritual taking place within the walls of the Vatican. 

“The ceremony...looks like it was lifted from the Berkeley campus in the 60s,” said one priest in a Tweet. “How am I supposed to take it seriously?”
“The only question that interests me is what His Holiness's prepared comments were and why he set them aside,” he added.

After event participants knelt and bowed to the statues of pregnant women, Pope Francis “set aside his prepared remarks, opting instead to offer the Our Father without comment,” CNA reported.


The event was organized by the Pan-Amazonian Ecclesial Network, the Order of Franciscan Friars Minor, and the left-wing Global Catholic Climate Movement. The Global Catholic Climate Movement includes working groups that “coordinate Catholic engagement in the Paris Agreement” and promote “Climate Strikes” and “fossil fuel divestment” to youth. Its executive director “served in the UN Climate Secretariat doing political outreach and comms for the COP21” – a UN climate conference – and has worked for Google, according to his bio. The group also offers a free guide that teaches strategies on forming parish “green teams,” “engaging parishioners on low carbon lifestyle choices” and “advocating for climate justice.”
“Various religious congregations and representatives of the indigenous people of the Amazon Region played important roles in providing colour and creativity” for the tree-planting ceremony, according to Vatican News. 

Cardinal Peter Turkson, Prefect of the Francis-created Vatican Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, also participated in the unusual Vatican ceremony. He said the “Season of Creation” is also “a season to respond to the ecological crisis” and suggested that Pope Francis’ message for the World Day of Prayer for Creation is “a time of change: humanity’s turning a new leaf to save the planet.”

There are whispers and quiet chatter all over Rome just days before the controversial Amazon Synod kicks off that the conclave which elected Pope Francis might have been invalid; a very close second to the talk of an invalid conclave is that Francis may have committed heresy.

Some of the things that Pope Francis says, as well as what he does and the people he appoints, are triggering near panic with some, and at the very least great concern with many others.

For example, earlier this week, Pope Francis named Bp. Mario Grech pro-general secretary of Synod of Bishops to replace Cdl. Lorenzo Baldisseri, the actual general secretary, when Baldisseri retires.

Grech has been the bishop of Gozo, Malta, since 2005. He will be leaving that post and heading to Rome, as stated by the Gozo curia.

Here's the concern: that another anti-tradition, pro-gay cleric is assuming important powers here at the Vatican.

In early 2017, Grech, along with other bishops announced they would strip any priest of his faculties for refusing Holy Communion to divorced and civilly remarried Catholics — the first directive of its kind in the history of the Church.

In a 2018 interview with Television Malta, Grech welcomed gay unions "with satisfaction," arguing partners "have the right not to be judged."

But there's more. U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who back home is telling anti-Trump Democrats to take a hike, was here in Rome this week at a Vatican symposium on religious freedom around the world.

Pompeo took the opportunity to condemn China's latest persecutions against various religions — the same China that this same Vatican and this same pope were happy to reach an accord with that has deserted Chinese Catholics.

Cardinal Zen of China told Church Militant in an exclusive interview that Pope Francis and the Vatican has "sold off the Chinese Church."

Recall, the chief negotiator for that China accord was none other than Theodore McCarrick, suspected Communist agent and proven homopredator, a man who was resurrected by Pope Francis after the pontiff knew — stone-cold knew — that McCarrick was at least a serial homopredator.

The suspected Communist and definite predator cobbled together a deal that Pope Francis approved off, and Chinese Catholics are now suffering for it tremendously —likewise, the long-awaited and never-delivered public disclosure of the Vatican's internal investigation of the entire McCarrick sordid affair.

Late last year, Francis stumbled into an arena that various scholars here are saying opened wide the door for charges of having committed heresy.

In finally declaring that the death penalty can never be moral — and apparently never has been — Francis seemed to actually upend — change — actual Catholic teaching, which traditionally has never completely ruled out capital punishment — in fact, far from it.

Nonetheless, Francis ordered the catechism changed to reflect that never-before presented "teaching."

Additionally, during this pontificate, the Pope has come out and said that God creates people gay.

He met with James Martin earlier this week, the leading proponent of all things homosexual in the Church, the same Martin who also maintains that God willfully, directly, creates people as homosexual — apparently in the womb.

All of these things, and much more, have started a lot of private conversations in and around Rome, as well as other parts of the Church, explicitly asking the question: Is Francis really the true pope?

So, quiet dinner conversations are punctuated with topics about whether the conclave that elected him was actually valid.

Or if it was valid, has Francis pronounced heresy in some fashion? And if he has, is he, therefore, no longer the pope?

None of these concerns being raised — and seriously debated — seem to have any kind of consensus reached about them; but that they are being discussed at all, much less with the intensity they are being talked about, is a signal that the Church has reached an entirely new place.

The opening of the Amazon Synod and the month-long goings-on here in Rome will surely only serve to heighten these types of concerns and speculation.

When Pope Francis talks about "schism," the observant Catholic will understand that that is more than just a word and it hasn't just come out of nowhere.

Pre-Synod Report: Breaking Apart

The Francis papacy has had the effect of bringing every dissident and unfaithful cleric out into the open, feeling as though they now have license to say and do whatever they please.

Days after becoming pope, Francis met with Peruvian Abp. Pedro Barreto Jimeno and Brazilian Cardinal-designate Cláudio Hummes to discuss setting up a Church network focused on the Amazon.

That meeting put into motion the plan which eventually produced next week's Amazon Synod — a plan which has unfolded over the past six years.

In a stunning turn of events, Abp. Barreto later remarked that Francis would back liberation theology's agenda for the Amazon, telling supporters, "Expect things that you never expected ... expect profound changes."

As opposition to his papacy has grown among faithful Catholic, as well as politically conservative Americans who are not Catholics, Francis and his allies have stepped up efforts to recast the operational schism.

They are deflecting heavily from theological issues, which are at the heart of the conflict, and presenting them as a type of class warfare, rich against poor, First World versus Third World.

That's why all the attention on immigration and so-called man-made climate change.

It's a deliberate masking over by the Francis Vatican of the real issue and presenting things in political terms.

This has been the dominant tactic for almost the entire papacy of Francis. It's all about politics meant to advance globalism, the 21st-century term for socialism, also known as Marxism.

It's why liberation theology is the driving force of the synod and why the Pope has resurrected the phony theologian Leonardo Boff, a former priest and leading proponent of the system condemned by John Paul in the strongest terms. 

Liberation theology has nothing to do with theology and everything to do with politics — the politics of Marxism in particular.

The operational schism that has taken root in the Church was introduced on two fronts — one in the West, the other in South America.

The one in the West, smuggled in by Marxist-minded clergy attacked the Church's moral teachings in the area of sexuality.

...what is the case is the embracing and resurrecting of liberation theology has given the green light to dissenters in the west proceed full steam ahead with challenging Church teaching in a variety of areas, most especially sexual morality.

The heretical Boff, affirms that Bergoglio is the Pope of the rupture:

Lots of pre-synod posturing in Rome these days, where nearly every enemy of the Church and their allies have descended.

On Monday this week, homosexualist cheerleader James Martin had a private 30-minute audience with Pope Francis where, according to his tweet, it was just him and the Pope, one on one, with no one else but a translator present.

What a disgusting sight — truly.

"Abp. Carlo Maria Viganò also didn't spare Fr. James Martin, who has done as much as anyone in the Church to pervert minds. He said of Martin that he was chosen to "corrupt young people" and is an example of the "deviated wing" of the Jesuits — which is the majority wing". (Church Militant)

Consider the underlying reality of this picture, a priest who advocates, routinely, for changing Church teaching on homosexuality sitting with the successor of St. Peter; the same successor of St. Peter who will not grant an audience to his own cardinals who signed the dubia letter pleading with him for clarification on Church doctrine.

In fact, Francis has put them off for so long that two of the original four have actually died. Talk about waiting out the opposition.

Martin has romped up and down the Church promoting sodomy, pretending he never challenges the teaching.

In truth, he spews the lies that God willfully made, intentionally created, men and women to be homosexual or lesbian.

And going further, he announces to gay Catholics, "God created you with special gifts and then called you into the church for a reason."

Of course, none of this is that different from some of what Francis himself has said, which is why this meeting, while disgusting, can hardly come as a shock. Just as the unveiling of a statue in St. Peter's Square, the first such statue in 400 years, could hardly be a shock.

It is an homage to what can be termed, the theology of globalism.

The statue depicts 140 migrants, matching the same number of saint statues on Bernini's famous Colonnade. But that's about where the comparison ends.

While Bernini's statues depict many who gave up their lives for the true faith, this work depicts a political cause dressed up as religious.

The statue of fake spirituality will remain in St. Peter's Square for a week and then be moved to the Vatican Gardens by order of Pope Francis.

Hopefully, some future pope will have it melted down and the bronze used to create a statue dedicated to the billion children murdered by abortion that no one here in the Vatican seems to care about.

It is supremely ironic that while Pope Francis scolds nations that care about their sovereignty by attempting to secure their borders, that he himself lives ensconced behind some of the most famous and largest walls in the world and is protected by one of the most elite security details in the world, armed to the teeth.

No one is saying the Vatican should tear down its walls, or hand over its guns. We live in an evil world where weapons and walls are necessary.

It's just that the Pope shouldn't be telling other countries to do so because, well, it's more than a little hypocritical.

Likewise, there was another symbolic dynamic involving this immigration statue, and as far as we can tell, it went by completely unnoticed.

Francis unveiled the hypocritical statue in St. Peter's Square on Sunday, Sept. 29. That's the feast day of St. Michael.

But the Pope chose to essentially ignore that glorious Catholic feast and instead focus attention on the celebration of the World Day of Migrants and Refugees.

And so it goes and will continue to go with this papacy, downplaying or ignoring virtually everything Catholic he can, while lifting up every worldly, even Marxist, globalist issue he can to near liturgical or doctrinal levels.

Consider, a meeting with Martin while ignoring his cardinals; showcasing a statue of largely non-Catholics, diverting attention away from Catholic martyrs; focusing on World Day of Migrants and Refugees while downplaying the Catholic feast of the protector of the Church.

The meeting between "Evil Jimmy" and Francis is symbolic of looming disaster in the Church.

What people need to understand is all of these things — all of this — is all part and parcel of the same thing, the plan to remake the Church.

It is a plan to use the Church to advance the Left's globalist agenda and all of these are pieces of that puzzle, the normalization of homosexuality, immigration policy, the downplaying and even persecution of tradition.

That's what's going on with the disastrous Theodore McCarrick-engineered plan for Catholics in China that Francis signed on to.

And that's the goal of next week's Amazon Synod: to sacramentalize the ecological movement; to raise to nearly supernatural heights Mother Nature — not for its own sake but for the sake of gaining even more strength and power for globalists.

Globalists don't care about the earth or creation or religion. If they did, they wouldn't push for the murder of a billion children — and counting.

What they do care about is using the issue to convince democratic people that their governments need to abandon their national sovereignty in a common effort to "save the earth."

The Church is useful in this regard because like Evil Jimmy distorts the teaching on the love of God for all people, these Churchmen distort the Church's teaching on the required care of creation.

Both issues, rooted in authentic morality, are twisted into a theology of globalism where a false morality is asserted — a feel-good morality. Not a shred of this is Catholic.

Loving your neighbor does not mean abandoning your borders. And respecting the dignity of each person does not mean accepting their perverted sexual practices.

But in modernist Rome, these are the brass ring wicked men have been striving for, for decades.

The faithful must decry these evils, for that is what they are.

Faithful Catholics don't hate migrants, refugees, homosexuals or the earth.

But we will not sit back silently while Church teaching is twisted in such a manner to supplant truth with falsehoods; to replace Catholicism with humanism — no way!

Cardinal Burke: Amazon Synod working doc ‘is a direct attack on the Lordship of Christ’

October 1, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – Cardinal Raymond Burke has spoken out against the misuse of the Amazon synodal process, blasting its recent exploitation to change both the doctrine and disciplines of the Catholic Church. The synod is set to take place in Rome this month from the 6-27.

“The fundamental concept of a synod was to call together representatives of the clergy and the lay people to see how the Church could more effectively teach and more effectively apply her discipline,” Burke told Sohrab Ahmari in an interview published Sept. 27 in First Things. 

The Cardinal, 71, explained that synods “never had anything to do with changing doctrine or with changing discipline.”

“It was all meant to be a way of furthering the mission of the Church,” he continued.

Burke cited the Code of Canon Law when he explained that a synod is supposed to advise the pope “in the preservation and growth of faith and morals, and the observance and strengthening of ecclesiastical discipline.”

“There’s nothing there about altering the doctrine or the discipline,” he added.

The Cardinal then described the Instrumentum Laboris, or working document, for this month’s Synod on the Amazon as an attack on Christ Himself.

“The working document of the Pan-Amazonian synod is a direct attack on the Lordship of Christ,” Burke said. 

“It says to people, ‘You already have the answers, and Christ is just one among many sources of answers.’ This is apostasy,” he continued.

Burke stressed that inculturation does not mean alteration of the truth of Christ.

“Christ is Lord, and in every time and place—this is the genius of the Church,” he said.

“When missionaries have preached Christ, they have also recognized the gifts and talents of the people to whom they were preaching,” he continued. 

“The people then expressed in their own art and architecture the truths of the Church. They added their own flavor to the expression of the underlying Truth.” 

The American Cardinal also addressed the synod that the German Bishops are organizing for themselves despite the disapproval of the Holy See. Burke told Ahmari that their “synodal path” is not valid.

“This has been made very clear,” Burke said.

“In the letter to German bishops, Cardinal Marc Ouellet of the Congregation for Bishops [told them] that they are undertaking a process that is basically outside the Church—in other words, attempting to create a church according to their own image and likeness,” he explained. 

The Cardinal believes that this German innovation must be stopped before “greater harm” is done to Catholics.

“We’re talking about the salvation of souls, which means we need to take whatever measure is necessary,” he stressed.

Burke said the German bishops believe that they can change doctrine to suit their nation, but that they are wrong.

“The German bishops believe that they can now define doctrine, which is false,” he told Ahmari.

“Otherwise, we would end up with a whole group of national churches, each with their own preferences regarding doctrine and discipline.”
