Saint Benedict of Nursia destroyed the idols of paganism while Bergoglio promoted idolatry

Saint Benedict instead destroyed the idols that the pagans rendered worship offering sacrilegious sacrifices. He demolished the temple of Apollo built an oratory in honor of St Martin, and where the altar of Apollo had been built an oratory to St. John In addition, with his preaching he attracted the Catholic faith to the people who lived nearby.

Saint Benedict of Nursia judges Francis’ heretical idea on the pastor

  • A monk should hate vice, but correct with prudence

Let him be chaste, sober, and merciful, and let him always exalt mercy above judgment (Jas 2:13), that he also may obtain mercy. Let him hate vice, but love the brethren. And even in his corrections, let him act with prudence and not go to extremes, lest, while he aimeth to remove the rust too thoroughly, the vessel be broken. Let him always keep his own frailty in mind, and remember that the bruised reed must not be broken (Is 42:3). In this we are not saying that he should allow evils to take root. (Saint Benedict of Nursia. The Rule of Saint Benedict, Ch. 64)

(Can be said as a Novena for Nine Consecutive Days)

Saint Benedict (c. 480-543), a man able to read consciences, prophesy the future, and to forestall the attacks of the devil, was born at Nursia in Sabina, Italy. Settling finally on Monte Cassino, he and his followers erected the monastery he was to make famous. There he wrote his Rule, which became the norm for all Western monks.

O holy patriarch, Saint Benedict, who didst establish monastic life in the Church of the West, thou hast been blessed both in name and by God's grace. At the close of thy glorious and fruitful life, having received holy Viaticum, and, supported by the arms of thy disciples, thou didst stand with thine hands lifted toward heaven and didst happily give up thy angelic soul into the hands of thy creator.

O blessed Saint Benedict, thou hast promised to defend zealously from the snares of the enemy those who call upon thee during their last struggle with death; protect me on this and every day of my life with thy holy blessing, that I may never be separated from our Blessed Lord and the company of the blessed in heaven. Amen.

May the holy cross be my light!
May the dragon never be my guide!
Begone Satan! Never tempt me with your vanities!
What you offer me is evil.
      Drink your own poison.

(Say 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary and 1 Glory Be)
